QUEER MUSEUM VIENNA is delighted to present not only the epochal silent film masterpiece “F.W.M. Symphonie” by Thomas Hörl on December 15, 2023 at 7 pm, but also the latest episode of the successful web soap “Just Gorgeous – Beauty for Dead People” by Berivan Sayici and La Terre! Look forward to the undead, punch and a dark evening.
F.W.M. Symphony, a silent film in three acts (39 min), is based on the real-life events surrounding the disappearance of Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s head: the skull stolen from the film director’s Berlin tomb in 2015 becomes the anchor of a narrative which splices fictional and historical identities. This short film is a tribute to Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau, the actor Max Schreck and the Expressionist era of silent film – as well as an artistic attempt to make amends for the desecration of Murnau’s grave. ‘Entfesselte Kamera’ included.

Just Gorgeous – Beauty for Dead People
The two drag queens, make-up artist La ‘Terre and hairdresser Babba, run the small beauty salon “Just Gorgeous – Beauty for All People” with little financial success. In a last-ditch attempt to save themselves from financial ruin and to escape the constant nagging and annoying demands of their customers, the two take a gamble and turn their beauty salon into a funeral parlor at short notice.
